Amazing Events Happening in November

So tie those running shoes, wax the skis, and flock to warmer weather this November with the amazing events happening this month:

 

Portland Alpine Festival – Portland, Oregon – November 3rd – 8th

Head on over to the Pacific Northwest for this year’s annual Alpine Festival in Portland, Oregon. Full of clinics, movies premieres, presentations, and comps, this is a festival for climbers put on by climbers. Catch the festival on November 7th and catch the premier of Aaron Mulkey’s film “The Pursuit” which you can check out a preview for here.

Breckinridge Ski Resort Opening Day – Breckenridge, Colorado – November 7th

Breckenridge is opening the doors early this November, and they are not the only ones. November really marks the month where a lot of major ski resorts are busting out the groomers. Among Breckenridge, you can get your first runs of the season at Keystone (11/7), Telluride (11/27), Park City (11/22), and Jackson Hole (11/27). Huntsville Hammer Adventure Race – Huntsville, Texas  – November 8th

The Huntsville Hammer is dropping this November in Texas. This sprint, 6 & 12 hour adventure race combines all the classic elements of adventure racing. Biking, boating, and navigating your way through some beautiful Texas scenery; head on down to Huntsville this month for an adventure like no other. World’s Toughest Mudder: Vegas – Las Vegas, Nevada – November 15th  

This isn’t your mother-in-laws’ mud race. Rising from the trenches, only the best athletes stand a chance in Tough Mudder’s “World’s Toughest Mudder” in the enterainment capital of the world Las Vegas, Nevada. Athletes need to furnish a pit crew to participate, and log some serious mud miles beforehand, as this year is promising to be tougher than ever. 2014 Greater Houston Disc Golf Championship – Houston, Texas -November 15th -16th

The disc golf season might be winding down in the northern states, but in the south, particularly Texas, they’re not planning on slowing down anytime soon. Head over to Houston in the middle of the month for the Houston Disc Golf Championships. Open to all playing abilities, this tournament should prove to a good time under nice weather. Dizzy Fifties 50K – Huntsville, Alabama – November 15th

Whether you go for the 50 miler or kilometer run, know that you are in for the long haul at the Dizzy Fifties in Huntsville, Alabama. Cruise the cities and drink plenty of water, this race named partly for a canine companion and partly for the many loops that make up the race course, 50 miles or 50 kilometers, either one, that’s a long way to run. Mountain Bike Camp – Birmingham, Alabama – November 20th

Looking to sharpen up your mountain biking skills? Want to know how to drop down a Cliffside, navigate the turns, and look good while doing it? Your best bet might be attending the Mountain Bike Camp in Birmingham this November. With 3 days of instruction and insight from industry professionals, this class will get you moving.  Balliminaria – Cincinnati, Ohio – November 22nd

A truly picturesque event, the Balliminaria in Cincinnati consists of nine hot air balloons being lit up over water in the nighttime. The effect is an eye catching burst of color and flames perfect to marvel over with a warm cup of cocoa at your side. 119th Annual YMCA Turkey Trot – Buffalo, New York – November 27th

The Buffalo Turkey Trot is one of the longest standing road races in the country, and the number of attendants each year speaks to its longevity.
