Amazing Events in June

Another month and more opportunities to get outside. Check out a sampling of all the outdoor events happening in June, and whatever you do, don’t forget the sunscreen:

Red Bull Cliff Diving: USA – June 7th – Possum Kingdom Lake, Texas
Ready to see some high flying action? Head on down to the Lone Star State this summer and see some amazing acrobats do their thing as they head straight for the water. Leave it to the professionals and chill out on the shore as Red Bull puts on another great show for you to watch.

Juneteenth Music Festival  – June 13th-14th – Five Points, Colorado
Music, art, history, and much much more; the Juneteenth Music Festival in Five Points, Colorado is aiming to deliver. Whether you show up for the brew, the tunes, or the celebration, come out to Colorado to enjoy one of the nation’s largest celebrations.

Back to the Chattahoochee River Race & Festival – June 14th – Roswell, Georgia
In partnership with the National Park Service and the city of Roswell, Georgia; the Back to the Chattahoochee River Race & Festival is an all-out rage and river fest with all proceeds goings towards the preservation of the waterway. So what are you waiting for? Get out and paddle!

Red Bull Wake of Steel – June 14th – Linz, Austria
Board the plane to Austria this June for the Red Bull Wake of Steel wakeboarding competition. Be ready to see some action as you hang out on the sidelines or stream it live, and whatever you do, don’t miss this year’s unique attraction; a half-sunk cargo ship that riders will utilize anyway they can.

Untamed New England Adventure Race – June 17th-22nd – New England
Taking place in the scenic 100 mile wilderness of New England, this ultra-adventure race will have participants biking, running, and navigating through some raw East Coast wilderness. Think you’re up for it? Then grab the extra water bottles and suit up for the long haul. And for other adventure races in June, be sure to check out United States Adventure Racing Association.com

Kansas City Wide Open National Disc Golf Tournament – June 19th-22nd – Kansas City, Missouri
Head to Kansas City this month to watch some professional disc golf players do their thing, or grab some Frisbees yourself and let them fly. Either way, find out what Frisbee golf is all about and make sure to check out PDGA.com to find all the local courses and tournaments in your area.

Gunnison River Festival – June 20th-22nd – Gunnison, Colorado
Celebration and education is the theme of this year’s Gunnison River Festival. Aiming to give back to the park, expect to find some paddles, people, and even some pottery. Along the way learn some new strokes, meet some new folks, and begin to understand a community that plays better when wet.

Fat Tire Challenge – June 21st – Clear Creek Valley, Pennsylvania
Cross this finish line at this fat tire race and enjoy yourself a nice chicken kabob. And besides the delicious grill entrees afterwards, expect a great ride throughout some Pennsylvania trails. Brooklyn 5k Foam Fest – June 21st – Brooklyn, New York
The Brooklyn 5k Foam Fest this month may not necessarily be about being the fastest, but instead, this fun run is more about who can get the cleanest. Come join the fun, get yourself a little sudsy, and for more fun runs across the nation check out Mud Run Guide.com

Chicks with Nuts – June 27th-29th – Seneca Rocks, West Virginia
Without letting your imagination go too far with this one, Chicks with Nuts is a unique opportunity for any aspiring women climber. Taking place in the out-of-this-world rock heaven known as Seneca Rocks in West Virginia, this small attendance event will get women one-on-one instruction and a day full of climbing to the top.
