Functionality
The LifeStraw Go with 2-Stage Filtration is an active student’s best friend. I’ve tried tons of water bottles on the market and been disappointed countless times. As a runner, I look for a lightweight bottle that can handle wear and tear and this water bottle does just that. Some of my frustrations with other water bottles include; mouth pieces breaking and weird tastes, but so far this one is very sturdy and the filter works great. The replaceable activated carbon capsule reduces bad taste, chlorine and organic chemical matter for up to 100 liters (26 gallons). Right out of the package this water bottle is ready to use. I figured with the filtration stuff it would require lots of set up but it is ready to go. Just fill and go.

Design and Aesthetic
The Lifestraw Go water bottle have a sleek stylish design; available in 5 color choices, blue, grey, green, purple and pink. The see through plastic allows you to see the filter that looks like a giant straw. As a cross country runner, design isn’t as important to me but this bottle has a cool look and the Lifestraw logo has a modern minimalist feel that I appreciate. Also, I like the addition of the carabiner so I can attach it my backpack when on the go.

Durability
The BPA (bisphenol A) free plastic is very durable. I carried it around with me everywhere and even dropped it a few times and there isn’t a scratch on it. The mouth is wider than most bottles so it’s easier to clean out. It’s also leak-proof. The seal around the cap is good. I turned it upside down and every direction and it didn’t leak. Which is nice, because I don’t know about you but I’ve thrown a bottle in a backpack and had it leak all over my gear (or homework…yikes!).

Value
$49.95 is actually on the higher end for a water bottle but the added filtration makes it worth the money. Also the replacement filters are $19.95 which is well worth the money if this bottle lasts. I spend that replacing mine every few months because they wear out and I think this one will last a long time. It’s worth the extra money and if that doesn’t convince you for every LifeStraw product sold, a child in a developing country receives clean, safe drinking water for an entire school year!
