Tailwind Endurance Fuel: Ginger Lime Limited Edition
I took this drink mix out for a spin on a recent ride through the Texas Hill Country. The weather was hot and humid, and I needed something to keep me going. I mixed up a bottle of the Ginger Lime flavor and hit the road. The flavor was refreshing, with a nice balance of ginger and lime that was not overpowering. It wasn’t too sweet, which I appreciated. The mix dissolved easily in water and didn’t leave any residue in my bottle. I felt like it kept me hydrated and energized throughout the ride. Additionally, 10% of the proceeds go to Silver Stallion, a nonprofit that supports youth cycling programs in the Navajo Nation, which made me feel good about my purchase.
Design & Aesthetics
The packaging of the Ginger Lime Endurance Fuel is clean and modern, with a green and white color scheme that reflects the flavor. The individual packets are convenient for on-the-go use. I never had any issues fighting to get it open, and the packaging did not explode open or tear all the way down the side. It was simple and easy to add the mixture to my bottle. The design is simple and functional, which I appreciate.

Specs
Each packet is 54 grams or two servings according to the website. That being said, I used the whole packet as one serving, which is what the instructions on the packet say to do. In one packet, there are 200 calories, 630mg of sodium, 51 grams of carbs, and 50 grams of sugar. It is a great balance of quick energy from the sugar and more sustaining energy from the carbs, balanced with enough sodium to keep my body moving. The drink mix is also gluten and dairy free and vegan.

Functionality
This drink mix is designed to provide all the calories, electrolytes, and hydration you need during endurance activities. It contains sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium to replace what you sweat out, and dextrose and sucrose for quick energy. The mix is easy on the stomach and doesn’t cause any GI issues, which I have been prone to in the past. It kept me feeling strong and focused during my ride, even with the hot temperatures and high sweat output.

Value
At $9.96 for a 4-pack, this drink mix is a bit pricier than some other options on the market. However, considering the quality of the ingredients and the fact that a portion of the proceeds goes to a good cause, I think it’s worth the investment. Plus, the convenience of the individual packets makes it easy to use on the go. While expensive, it is well worth the money.

Closing Thoughts
Overall, I was impressed with the Tailwind Nutrition Ginger Lime Endurance Fuel. It kept me hydrated and energized during a tough ride in the Texas heat, and the flavor was refreshing without being overpowering. The fact that it supports a nonprofit that promotes youth cycling programs is a big bonus. If you’re looking for a high-quality drink mix to fuel your endurance activities, I highly recommend giving this one a try.
