DJI Phantom 2 ($679)The best all-around drone available to amateur pilots at the moment is without a doubt the DJI Phantom 2. Not only is this aircraft relatively small and lightweight—making it easy to transport—it is also fairly durable and forgiving of pilot error too. On top of that, the Phantom 2 is easy to learn to fly, which is why it has become incredibly popular with outdoor filmmakers in particular. Attaching a GoPro camera to the bottom of this drone (Other Phantom 2 models come equipped with cameras) is a breeze, and it is possible to start shooting aerial footage within a matter of seconds. Add in a flight time of approximately 25 minutes before the battery needs a recharge, and you have an incredibly versatile drone for a variety of uses.
