Review: Showers Pass Rogue Hoodie
Functionality: ★★★★★
The Rogue Hoodie is the ideal outer layer for the spring and fall months. The three-layer waterproof softshell Artex material means that this jacket will keep you nice and dry, while still being flexible enough to move around in, making it a perfect pick for hiking or biking around town. There are plenty of pockets for all your stuff, including one with a light loop and another with an audio port. The jacket was designed with cyclists in mind, as evidenced by the oversized adjustable hood that has plenty of room for a helmet.
Aesthetic: ★★★★
Forget stiff, boxy jackets: this jacket is flattering without sacrificing comfort and practicality. The small touches go a long way, like the wrist gaiters with thumb loops, the reflective trim, and a slightly longer back. It comes in black and in a striking orangey red color (called Chili Pepper Red), but it would be great to see a few more color options. You could definitely get away with wearing this jacket around town in a non-sports setting, especially in the casual Pacific Northwest, where it was designed.
Durability: ★★★★★
You get what you pay for. When it comes to Showers Pass products, you can expect durable gear that will last a long time. The Rogue Hoodie is well constructed and is easy to care for: just pop it in the washing machine with cold water, and then dry it on tumble.
Value: ★★★★
At $175, this is definitely not an inexpensive jacket—there are cheaper options out there, but you’d be hard-pressed to find one that offered everything the Rogue Hoodie has. If you’re looking to invest in a piece that checks all the boxes, then the Rogue Hoodie is a wise place to put your money.
