Amazing Outdoor Events in September

mudAnother month, another hosts of reasons to get outside. Don’t sit on the couch in September, instead check out one of these amazing outdoor events happening this month:

 

Bhatki Fest West – Joshua Tree, California – September 4th-7th

Toted as a music and yoga experience of a lifetime, the Bhatki Fest West in Joshua Tree, California promises it’s visitors great music, a healthy dose of music, and a collection of like-minded community members. Check it out, find your zen, and enjoy the awesome scenery of Joshua Tree.

San Diego Open Disc Golf Championship – San Diego, California – September 6th-7th

Head on out to sunny San Diego for one of the many disc golf open tournaments taking place across the country. Tour De Chocolate Town – Hershey, Pennsylvania – September 7th

Check out this 4th annual bike ride in Chocolate Town and donate your entry fee to the Children’s Miracle Network. Riders have their choice between bike routes, a 17.5 mile beginner route all the way to a 100 mile century ride, and all routes take you past the Willy Wonka inspired Hershey Chocolate Factory. Snowmass Balloon Festival – Aspen, Colorado – September 12th-13th

Head to Aspen this summer where hot air balloons instinctively flock to the skies like the salmon of Capistrano. While you are there, check out the Snowmass Balloon Festival and stare in wonder as balloons take to the sky. Prison Break Race – Ottawa, Canada – September 13th

A unique twist to the classic mud run, the Prison Break Race in Ottawa offers obstacles, mud, and much more. Running amongst the “jail breakers” are prison guards who are looking to pull your flags and put you back in the makeshift slammer. Coastal Trail Challenge 10K – San Francisco, California – September 14th

Want a race with plenty of scenery to offer? Check out the 10k Coastal Challenge in sunny San Francisco in the middle of this month. Starting near the Golden Gate Bridge, this race will have you racing through the sand and gazing over the shore. Gauley Fest – Summersville, West Virginia – September 19th-20th

Release the water! Come celebrate one of the most gnarly white-water openings this September as the waters in Summersville, West Virginia are released and the infamous Gauley action is open to the public. Enjoy the crowd, the party, and all the best that this well-established kayak culture has to offer.

 

Chicks with Nuts – Seneca Rocks, West Virginia – September 26th – 28th

Open to females only, Chicks with Nuts is a gathering of female professionals and novices alike to celebrate girl power. Sign up early because this one-on-one teaching event only has a scarce number of spots. While you are there, sharpen your climbing skills with teaching from some of the best female climbers found at the beautiful Seneca Rocks.

Bend Adventure Race – Bend, Oregon – September 27th

Ready to rock and roll? How about hike, orienteer, bike, paddle, and climb? This 30-hour adventure race is open to anyone who thinks they can hang, and will put all athletes of all levels to the test. Participants can expect an array of activities to find different checkpoints, but one thing is guaranteed, you’ll be getting a good dose of butt kickin’. Red Bull Rampage – Virgin, Utah – September 28th

Claimed to be the great equalizer of all mountain biking events, Red Bull is gathering all types of mountain bike riders and sending them to the sandstone spires of Virgin, Utah. Guaranteed to deliver big jumps and big thrills, for safety reasons not a lot of spectator seats are sold, but you can check out the live stream of the event at Red Bull.com
