Ask Gearographer: New Skis
Dear Gearographer
I really want some new skis this year. I don’t need them but I want them. How do I convince my wife this is a necessary expense?

Dear Anxious,
How do you usually persuade her? Sounds like you need to Man up and get this done as ski season is about to start. I would buy her a pair of the most expensive Ladies skis you can find, then once she compares them to yours; you’re in. On the other hand that’s a very expensive way to go about this. Another option is the opposite of Man up. That’s right: begging, crying, whining and sulking usually works for me. I know it’s not pretty but it works.
