Some of Our Favorite Gear at Shot Show 2024

Vaygoose! What a trip. The team spent three days, plus one day at the demo, looking at gear, shooting guns and doing things we can’t repeat because what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas (ie, going to bed at 10 PM, working out every night, and avoiding alcohol to avoid getting sick). Here’s some of our favorite outdoor gear that we saw in 2024!

Automatic Shifting E-Bike

We can’t tell you much about this bike other because it’s super top secret until March 1. But here’s what we can say. 1.) It’s the first ebike of its kind to have an automatic transmission. Yep. No more gear crunching; the bike will shift for you when you’re ready. 2.) Motorcycle chain. Because it’s automatic, the chain needs to be beefed up to avoid breaking when switching gears, yet there’s still a lot of tension on the chain. Solution? Motorcycle chain. 3.) It’s going to be a badass bike. No more mall cops on bikes, this model is a combination of agility, speed, and power, which in many environments, is more ideal than a motorcycle or car.

Case Knives – Chris Taylor Fixed Blade Series

Case Knives is known for their stellar fixed blades but what caught our eye is the fact that these are designed by Chris Taylor, a resident of Arkansas. That’s right, he designs these bad boys right here in hog country. This new line includes three new knives, the OD Green Burlap Micarta®, Black Carbon Fiber Weave and the Orange Textured G-10. As you can see, all three knives have different steel and handle materials ranging from (Nitro V Steel, S35VN Steel, 1095 Carbon Steel blades on Micarta and Carbon Fiber.

COAST Voice Controlled Headlamp

This is the probably the most fun product I saw out of the whole show; by the end of my meeting with Voice Control, I was having full conversations about my evening plans! All kidding aside, this was the coolest product feature I saw just because I could visualize all the applications where I could truly be hands free when using a headlamp (I mean, that’s the point of a headlamp in the first place, right?).

Pelican Products V300P Vault 5 Pistol Gun Case

The Pelican V300P pistol case is an impressive little number. The pick foam interior provides a snug custom fit for your handgun – no rattling around during transport! The push button lock clicks satisfyingly, clearly securing your firearm inside. I love the compact size – easy to stash without wasting space. Pelican built the outer shell tough with resilient HPX resin. Features like the automatic pressure valve show Pelican’s attention to detail in creating protective cases. Though compact, the V300P doesn’t compromise on quality.

SpyderCo Bodacious

This leaf shaped stout folding knife is available in two different blade formats (PlainEdge or Sypder Edge) and is a beast of a knife to handle. The Compression Lock mechanism gives a satisfying “thunk” when engaged and slides gracefully back and forth. Definitely a heavy duty blade for heavy duty adventures.

LOWA Tibet Evo GTX

The LOWA Tibet EVO is a full-grain leather boot that provides durable protection while the climate membrane keeps your feet dry. The Vibram outsoles grip terrain firmly while the extra ankle padding prevents blisters. I personally thought the easily adjustable lacing hooks were a clever fit for hunters with gloves (or cold hands). The Tibet EVO feels broken-in right out of the box thanks to the flexible LOWA Flex Efficiency System.

Garmin eTrex Series Solar Powered GPS

Garmin’s solar-powered GPS redefines outdoor navigation by blending reliability with sustainability. Harness the power of the sun and explore all day long without worrying about battery life! This solar-powered GPS is a game-changing companion for those who seek uncompromised performance in the great outdoors.
