ExOfficio underwear

Those of us who like to travel light know that everything we pack has to perform well and serve a purpose. This is especially true for our clothing, which will often be worn multiple times may need to transition from a day on a trail to an upscale dinner establishment within a few hours’ time. Usually, we put a lot of thought into the apparel we take with us on our journeys, considering various layers to protect us from the elements, which shirt and pants combos work well together, and which shoes make the most sense for the destination. We don’t always put as much thought into the underwear we bring along, however, which can be a significant oversight.

If you’re one of those travelers who are content with just tossing a couple of pairs of cotton briefs into your bag and hitting the road, it’s time you upgraded to something better. ExOfficio has been making top-notch travel apparel for more than two decades and the company’s underwear has always been the best on the market. That hasn’t changed with the arrival of the Give-N-Go 2.0 Sports Mesh Boxer Briefs, which elevate the ExOffio legacy to new heights.

Comfort (5) ★★★★★

Comfort has always been one of the hallmarks of ExOfficio underwear and that continues with the Give-N-Go 2.0. It isn’t surprising that these briefs feel great when walking the streets of Paris, where just about any type of underwear will do. But the Sport Mesh Boxer Briefs are equally comfortable when hiking in the Himalayas or camping in the Sahara. Those are the types of destinations where you don’t want to have to think about whether or not your clothing is performing as you would expect. You just want to put something on and forget about it. That’s what ExOfficio delivers.

Fit (5) ★★★★★

ExOfficio underwear has always been snug, but not confining. You can put them on and know that they will conform to your body and not inhibit motion in any way. This is important on active adventures, where bunching, twisting, and chaffing simply aren’t an option. The Give-N-Go 2.0 Boxer Briefs fit like a second skin, in the best possible way. They also work well as part of a layering system.

Performance (5) ★★★★★

For years, ExOfficio has used the motto “17 countries, six weeks, one pair of underwear.” That’s achievable thanks to the lightweight, highly-breathable, fabrics used in the construction of these briefs. The fact that they naturally come with antimicrobial properties—which keeps odor to a minimum—is a big plus too. The company recommends wearing the underwear all day, then washing them in the sink at night and letting them dry before putting them on the following morning. Thanks to their quick-drying capabilities, that’s entirely possible. But I recommend splurging and actually carrying two pairs of underwear with you when you hit the road, alternating between them. It’s the perfect strategy for extended trips that last for weeks at a time.

Overall (5) ★★★★★

If you couldn’t tell already, we’re big fans of these underwear. They are comfortable to wear, fit nicely, and perform exceptionally well. They are the one garment that gets packed for a long trip no matter where we go. That should tell you something about how much we appreciate the quality of these briefs.

At $30 per pair, the ExOfficio Give-N-Go 2.0 Sports Mesh Boxer Briefs aren’t inexpensive. You can buy multiple pairs of cotton briefs for that same price. But if you happen to value comfort and performance while traveling, this underwear is worth every penny, and then some. You will not be disappointed. Just order a pair or two and thank us later. And yes ladies, ExOfficio does make underwear for you too.
